Attending Physician – Independent Contract

Job Description
We are looking for an attending physician to take on 25-50 beds of our Markham Ho Lai Wan Centre home. Number of beds you will take on depends on your comfort level and past experience in LTC. You will be reporting to the Executive Director and the Medical Director of the home.
Accountabilities:
 Weekly in-home visits to provide medical care to your residents.
 Addresses residents’ medical needs and provides timely documentation using the home’s
electronic medical records (Point Click Care)
 Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality resident care.
 Conducts regular medication review and documents to update residents’ health record.
 Participate in after hour on-call in rotation weeks.
 Commits to continuing education in topics relating to Long-term care, palliative care, care of the
elderly and dementia care.
Qualifications
 Medical practitioner licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
 Preferable to have experience in Long-Term Care and geriatric medicine.
 Ability to understand and speak Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
